Reusable Component architecture
DomAPI exposes a component API which makes it easy to use or extend existing components, as well as to create your own royalty-free ones.
Built in theme and 'skinning' engine
DomAPI ships with two new themes -- 'system', which is a 'Windows-like'
skin and 'aqua' which is more 'Apple-esque'. DomAPI makes creating your own
themes a breeze -- if you can write CSS, you can create a theme.
AJAX & Remote procedure call (RPC) engines
DomAPI is an industry leader in cross-platform AJAX and RPC development. Its comprehensive support enables rapid development of ultra-sophisticated applications.
Advanced drag-n-drop engine
Unlike some products, drag-n-drop functionality is not an afterthought with DomAPI.
Support for it is built in at the ground level. Components such as trees, list boxes and grids allow the user
to drag-n-drop items within themselves or even between other components.
JSON, XML and CSV dataset support
DomAPI believes you shouldn't be tied to any one data-format. What works well in one circumstance may not work best in all. That is why we offer support for all popular data formats. DomAPI was an early adopter of JSON technology and continues to build support into all its components at the core level. Combined with its native AJAX support, this allows you to wield awesome powers in your hands.
Superior debugging tools
DomAPI comes complete with a DOM explorer, property explorer and AJAX debugger. It also includes tools for dumping the generated source for dynamic HTML and CSS, as well as a dataset explorer.
Rich third-party extensions
We encourage the development of third-party add-ons and extensions. The build contains many of these as well as third-party components that you're sure to find useful. DomAPI has a thriving community of users that are always eager to share their ideas and accomplishments.
Localization
DomAPI has support for localization (date formats, etc) and string resource bundles. It ships with many popular languages, and is easy to extend with additional ones.
