Are there any active developers still using domapi?

Just trying to help generate some interest and conversation.

Let's hear from you.

I had shown some interest in this library in the past and wasn't really seeing any active development being done. I have thus moved on to using combination libraries like JQuery UI and ExtJs in many of my projects. I have still be hopeful that this library will continue to show some promise so that I can dedicate some serious time to building some prototypes for my clients and easily convince them that this library rocks and will be around for a long time. But I an currently unsure of the future of this library.

Walkins5, thanks for responding. It’s been really disappointing to see this once promising library/community go inactive. By now, the developer may have lost interest. I too have thought about moving on to another library, but have invested so much time. JQuery and ExtJS are two of the more popular libraries that seem to grab most of the attention these days. Though I’d prefer ExtJS’s coding style over JQuery, what are your thoughts and experience with each? I’ve slowly gained an interest in HTML5. Most notably, the canvas element. Canvas offers the ability to create some very expressive user interfaces, which are simply not possible using standard HTML. If interested, I’d be willing to share some screen shots.

Hello guys,

We have built a full desktop with DOMAPI, and have also noticed that the library has for the last two year had a lack of interest.

However we have made some very nice improvements on some components that we would be willing to share.

For example we have enhanced the tree so that you can have bold, color ....
We have also modified the listgrid to be able to insert a line in the middle of the list without having to reload

We have worked on the popup menu to make it work event when its ment to got out of the window

So if anyone wants to check those mods and make a new build of DOMAPI, I'd be glad to help.

Darin please comme back !!!!

I've moved onto YUI3 (http://yuilibrary.com/). Absolutely outstanding, yui3 really is the next-generation of JS framework. It sandboxes nicely so sits beside all by my existing domapi work (which still works fine with no need to replace until I get to it). All my new stuff is YUI3.
